Avro Lincoln

Avro Lincoln

Tamiya's 1/48 scale Lancaster B.I "Grand Slam" is available online from Squadron

Description

This is my 1/48 Scale Avro Lincoln. It's a very big model! It's a conversion from Tamiya's 1/48 Avro Lancaster.

The conversion set came from Paragon Designs.

It consisted of new engine nacelles, new propeller blades, fuselage plug extension and new nose, new wing tips and rudders, wheel hubs (wheels are Paragon's too but not in this set), back turret, and mid fuselage turret. to complicate things more I had to lower the wings dihedral too.

Tamiya's Lancaster has raised panel lines so all panels were rescribed and altered for the Lincoln.

The cockpit and flaps were scratch built.

I used Carpena Decals for the letters and Zestaw Kalkomanii Decals Avro Lancaster Sheet for the roundels and stencilling. I chose this colour scheme because I intend to built the Lancaster and the Manchester in the future and I think that it will be interesting to see them all in the same colour scheme. The only problem is the I cannot find Paragon's Manchester conversion anywhere!

This was a complicated conversion but the final result were quite satisfying.
