Tamiya's
1/48 scale Meteor and V-1 is available online from
Squadron
Here is Tamiya's Gloster Meteor F.Mk.I with one of its famous
adversaries, the Fieseler Fi 103 (V-1).
Tamiya's kit was issued in 1999 and is a natural for co-display with
it's jet sister, the Me-262. Even a cursory glance by an automotive
modeler would speak volumes about them.(the aircraft, not the car guys!)
For the most part this model is of the usual Tamiya precision and
crispness.

However the joint at the wing fillet may be unaccptable to some modelers
and may need some filling; likewise the join of the engine intakes to
the wing.
Overall, however, it is a pleasure to build.
But that is not all!, because this offering is really four kits in one-
the V-1 is a 6-part gem. Also provided are two Rolls-Royce Welland jet
engines in displayable format.
Acrylics were used exclusively for the painting - Gunze for the topsides
(Dark Green and Ocean Grey). Undersides are Tamiya Deck Tan - a close
match for Sea Grey Medium.

The kit decal sheet offers three aircraft from RAF 616 Sqn. I chose YQ-E
of Flying Officer Dean, he of the wingtip nudge first victory over a
flying V-1.
