is available online from

The enclosed pictures are from an Eduard Nieuport 11 that I built and
entered in the Rigged Aircraft Category at the IPMS Nationals in Atlanta
this past summer.
The kit is built box stock with only the rigging and turnbuckles
added.
This subject represents my attempt to paint clear doped wings with
just a trace of the wood wing ribs showing through. First I laid down a
base coat of linen color. Then I painted each rib location with flat
brown. Over this I placed a very thin strip if tape at each rib.
Next, I painted several coats of linen after which I removed the
tape. I then continued with multiple coats of highly thinned linen until
the ribs were just visible.
The last coat I added a little dirty white to tone down the green
tint of the linen color. This gives the illusion of a semi transparent
surface. Unfortunately the white background in the photographs washes
out some of this effect.
All of the natural wood is painted using oils. The rigging is smoke gray
transparent thread and the turnbuckles are made of .003 stainless wire.
This is a fairly simple kit and I would recommend it to anyone wanting
to try their hand at WWI subject.
