Hasegawa's 1/48
scale P-40E Warhawk is available online from Squadron
Here is Hasegawa's brand new 1/48 scale P-40E Warhawk.
On receiving this kit I was immediately impressed, but once
construction started it was not all that I had first hoped.
The cockpit was excellent, needing nothing more than paint and seat
belts.
Airframe construction was not as easy as expected, due to the tail
plug, machine guns, rear cockpit housing and the rectangular inserts at
the front of the fuselage.
All these are necessary for the future releases of other variants
(the P-40N is already listed).

With the airframe together and the canopy masked, it was time for
spraying. Xtra colour enamels were used throughout to complete the spray
job.
Decals chosen from Eagle Strike's Birds of Prey, Warhawks and
Kittyhawks Part 2.
Final assembly of wheels and other bits and bobs completed
construction to a satisfactory conclusion.
I was most pleased with the end result of Hasegawa's new 1/48 scale
P-40E, but the amount of rescribing meant that I had to call on my
friend Vince Blackburn to do this tedious task for me!
